At Triggerfish we're constantly looking to find ways to improve the quality of our work and explore reliable new technologies and tools. Continuous training and personal learning is vital to this mission. Below is a summary guide on how to access Triggerfish's training and learning resources.
Firstly, we have a specific drive for storing ALL OUR TRAINING RESOURCES. This includes training resources for everyone from artists to dev. It even includes tutorials for our production staff. Bookmark it!
Importantly, we use standard naming conventions throughout the studio - please take some time to familiarise yourself with these conventions as they're vital to our workflows and production management.
This is a great place to start. We have a bunch of quick video tutorials that introduce our proprietary and custom-built tools. Take a few minutes to watch these - they will get you up to speed nice and quickly.
Then, depending on what department you are going to be working in, its best to watch the deeper dive videos for your specific department. These can be found in the artist training folder. (Or use the links to the left for quick access)
This is the biggest section filled with useful training for artists, leads & supervisors, dev and even some pipeline specific training for production. Find it under Tools & Pipeline.
Under Artist Training there are sub-folders for every department in the studio with a wealth of information from Edit to Animation, FX and LRC.
The production coordinator folder contains a 'New_Production_Folder_Template' which should be used as a project folder template on Google Drive for new productions. Simply copy & paste this folder structure to the new drive as your first task when starting out.
It also contains videos on Shot Grid training - a great place to start if Shot Grid is feeling a little daunting.
Each project has its own quirks, that deviate slightly from the main pipeline or specific character rigs, so be sure to check out the project-specific folder pertaining to the production/project you are working on.
Email Chris Cunnington with your questions, queries or suggestions around training and learning. For production-specific queries, check-in with your lead or supervisor first.
