We are super excited to have you on our team. We’re ready to share and learn together while creating wonderful, award-winning films. We strongly believe in the power of great teamwork at Triggerfish and encourage you to dive in and join us on this adventure.
This 'Day 1' crew guide is intended to help you get up to speed with our systems and processes as quickly as possible. We hope that it's clear and easy to follow and inspires you as we go forth and create! If you still have questions, or are missing anything, reach out to your producer, or department manager.
We know that your first day on a new job can be daunting. To make it simple, follow the guide below, using our handy checklist tool to make sure you have all your bases covered.
Before you start working you should have received and sent back a signed copy of your contract and project-specific NDAs. Keep a copy for your own records. If you're looking for our HR policies mentioned in your contract, have a look at the folder links on the HR Central page.
There are various systems and applications you'll need to setup, including mail, file sharing and production management apps. Some are very specific to your production - please check in with your Producer or Manager as to the finer details. Here are the commonly required applications:
Google Account
Your Triggerfish email address is your key to accessing our Google Workspace that included the cloud-based shared folders, email and Google suite of applications.
By default, you've been granted permission to all the general studio information through the 'Studio' google group but there may be production-specific information that you may need access to. Speak to your producer or head of department about having the additional folder shared with you.
Email Signature
Here is a quick guide on editing your email signature in Google Mail. Below is our email signature template. Add to your Triggerfish mail account, editing your name, role, location and telephone number - making sure you include your country code.
Your preferred pronoun, pronunciation and nickname are optional - add as you would best like to be addressed.
Name Surname

Pronoun/Pronunciation/Nickname (optional)

Discord
Get yourself set-up on our chat platform, Discord. This is a great way to connect with your team and the wider studio in real-time. Click here for the tutorial on getting Discord up and running. Ask your Producer or Manager what your server and production 'handle' is.
Shotgrid
https://triggerfishanimation.shotgunstudio.com
In order to access your Shotgrid project, you will need an Autodesk license. Please speak to your production team regarding your license. Once this license is assigned, you should receive an email with a link that allows you to access your Shotgrid account.
Please go through this Shotgrid information guide to get your head around how we use the platform and your starter guide here. In order for you to use our pipeline launcher and tools, you need to create a personal access token.
Bamboo
https://triggerfish.bamboohr.com/home/
This is our HR management system which you will be given access to. If you are permanent or a fixed/term contractor you will need to apply for and track your leave allocation here. If you are a freelancer you will still have all your details added to the system even though you don't have a leave benefit. All personal details are kept confidentially and only used for HR purposes. No personal information is ever given out to anyone outside of HR without your permission in accordance with POPI Act/GDPR regulations. The HR Team will help you set it up - bookmark the link!
You should also have received and sent back your onboarding form. If you have not received this form, please email the HR team at hr@triggerfish.com (and copy in your line producer). They will also be in contact to set up an introduction meeting with Stuart Forrest, our CEO, as well as a time for a studio welcome.
Your producer or manager will introduce you to your team on your first day at Triggerfish. If you are still unsure of who’s who, reach out to your production coordinator or department manager.
Refer to your contract or agreement on when and how you get paid. The HR Central page that relates to your specific contract will also help you understand how you get paid, what benefits apply to you and what's expected of you in order to get paid (particularly freelancers).
Please follow your department’s workflow, keeping up with the review process and your schedule. Your Leads will help you along.
Your first point of contact should always be your direct production team.
After that you could contact IT support, HR or Accounts directly, depending on the issue.
